The aim of the Community Cohesion Group is to bring together the various agencies that work on community cohesion issues and that have an interest in this work in Burnley. Through close collaboration, the Group will deliver positive change and encouragement to communities in Burnley.
The Group will develop and monitor community cohesion elements within the Community Plan and the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy and will link those priorities with the relevant delivery processes.
The Community Cohesion Group will:-
- Coordinate and integrate community cohesion activities with other plans
- Embrace and respond to national community cohesion guidance
- Conduct needs assessments in Burnley to identify priority action
- Identify community cohesion issues and develop solutions
- Advise on involvement with multi-agency initiatives
