Notice from Burnley Community Network

18.03.11

Burnley Community Network is, like many of our colleague organisations, also affected

by the reduction in funding available to the third sector, but we would like to confirm that BCN will remain in operation in 2011-2012 and will continue servicing its VCF members

with the much valued assistance of its elected VCF Management Committee members , its Representatives on our Local Strategic Partnership (BAP) and through its thematic groups where BCN has retained its seats. (view changes here)

Although every effort has been made to maintain staffing at the same level,

(2 P/T posts) - the lost of 2/3rd of our funding leaves us with no other alternative than

to proportionate our activities accordingly which results in the difficult decision of making the Coordinator/Information Officer post redundant while retaining the Partnership Officer post with drastically reduced hours in post.

The Management Committee will meet with the Finance Committee on the

28th of March to work out the details of the Delivery Plan 2011-2012 to minimise the impact of these changes to our membership.

On that last note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past 9 years.

Wishing you all the very best for the future.
